Five Work-From-Home Tips

By Kelsi Hicken | Nov 11, 2020

Working remotely has become the new normal for so many people across America. The home is now also the office, the kitchen table a desk, and the couch the break room. Focusing in a new environment is always a challenge, but using a few of these tips and tricks will help boost your productivity and get you back into the working groove.

1. Create a schedule!

Creating a new routine is one of the best ways to keep yourself focused when you’re working from home. Even though you don’t have to worry about hitting traffic during your commute, sticking to a schedule can help keep you grounded. Little things like setting out your clothes the night before or making time to go for a walk after the workday ends can refocus your mind.

2. Maintain a work-life balance!

When you sleep in the same area as you work, the lines between work and home can get blurred. No matter how comfortable your bed is (and with Cozy Earth Bamboo Sheets, it’s very comfortable), set up shop at a table or a desk to keep from falling back asleep mid-workday. Once you’re off the clock, relax on your couch, turn off your computer, and give yourself a chance to unwind to keep up a healthy work-life balance.

3. Don’t watch TV or try to multitask just because you’re at home!

It can be tempting, when you’re working from home, to kick back on the couch with your laptop and do work with the TV on in the background. Bouncing around from task to task or trying to catch up on your favorite show while you’re working keeps you from being able to focus fully on the task at hand. Instead, save the TV and the household chores until after the workday.

4. Get human contact!

If you live alone, working from home can be isolating. Make sure to have calls with friends and family to keep up your spirits, or even organize some socially distanced activities!

5. Make sure you get lots of sleep to boost productivity!

Whether at the office or at home, if you’re tired, your work efficiency and quality drops drastically. When the workday is over and bedtime comes, throw on your coziest PJs (we recommend the Short-Sleeve Bamboo Pajamas), and tuck yourself into bed for at least eight hours of sleep. Your body and mind will thank you in the morning!

These five tips are the perfect starting point for upgrading your work-from-home experience, so bust out the comfy clothes and get ready to be productive!
