I really like this pillow - enough to buy multiple. It has low loft, and compresses readily up to a point. I'd double up for side-sleeping, but for back and stomach, it's perfect for me. When I sleep on my back, it's easy for a pillow to make my neck uncomfortable with too much loft - I don't have that issue at all with this one. I'm not sure if it's actually better at cooling than a random modern pillow. If it is, it feels like the touch area heats up quicker than a pillow with modern artificial cooling fill. But I've never found myself feeling too warm or wishing it was cooler - it's cooling enough for me. When I first got it, it had a unique but not-bothersome smell. I suspect it's the natural scent of the silk stuffing, but I don't know. The smell is slowly fading, but now I wish it didn't! After a couple of nights, I started to like it, almost like how I sometimes naturally start to like the taste of a healthy but unfamiliar food after trying it once or twice. Wild. The silk filling moves almost like down feathers, but it's heavier and it doesn't compress as much before resistance stiffens. Never felt anything like it, but I really enjoy it.
