Most women have heard of a hair towel wrap, but do you know how to use one properly? Here we break down the steps to reduce frizz and breakage while absorbing the most water.

  • Step 1: When you get out of the bath or shower, squeeze out as much water from your hair as you can with your hands.
  • Step 2: Bend over and flip your hair so it falls in front of you.
  • Step 3: Drape the hair towel over your head so the widest part is at the base of your neck.
  • Step 4: Twist the hair towel, along with your hair, starting at your neck. Keep it tight (but not too tight); it shouldn’t hurt.
  • Step 5: Tuck the end of the towel under the wrapped part to secure it in place. If your towel has a button or a loop, pull the twisted part over your head and secure it to the back.
  • Step 6: Avoid a wonky, squished, dried-out ‘do for the day by only leaving the towel in place for about 10-20 minutes.
  • Step 7: Gently unwrap the towel.

Are Hair Towels Worth It?

Well, we might be a little biased, but we definitely think so. In addition to being gentler on your hair than a traditional bath towel and speeding up drying time, hair towels allow you to focus on other things – hands-free – while your hair dries more evenly.

Which Hair Types Benefit from Hair Towel Wraps?

Hair towels are designed for all hair types, but people with wavy, curly, and frizz-prone hair typically see the greatest benefits from them. Hair towels are lighter weight than regular bath towels and reduce friction while drying your hair.

Are Hair Towels Machine Washable?

Yes! Cozy Earth hair towel wraps are machine washable, and you should wash them before their first use. Be sure to use color-safe detergent and wash warm with similar colors. Our hair towels can tumble dry on low but you should never bleach them. Always check the care instructions on your hair towel before putting it in your washing machine.
