What does cotton feel like compared to bamboo?

Our Soft-Wash Cotton is a sateen weave, so it feels smooth and soft with a little more body on the bed than bamboo sheets. It drapes naturally and holds its shape, with a grounded, substantial quality you can feel. The fabric has been sandwashed to create a lived-in feel to the sheets. Bamboo, by comparison, is lighter and more slippery, with a silky glide. Cotton lovers tend to prefer that bit of structure and the unmistakable feel of a natural cotton sheet.

Why are they called "Soft-Wash"?

The cotton is garment-washed during finishing, a step that relaxes the fibers and takes away the stiffness of brand-new sheets. That is why they feel soft and broken-in from the very first night, and why they keep getting softer with every wash.

How do I put a comforter or insert inside the duvet cover?

Start by turning the duvet cover inside out and laying it flat on the bed with the bottom zip opening facing you. Reach inside to the top two corners, then grab the matching top corners of your comforter through the fabric. Holding those corners together, shake the cover right-side out so it falls down over the comforter, working it into place along the way. Once the insert is settled, fasten the interior snap closures at each corner to keep it from shifting, then close the concealed bottom zip. Give the whole thing a gentle shake to smooth everything out, and your bed is ready.

Do these shams come with pillows?

No, you can purchase pillow inserts separately. Our Down-Alternative Pillow is a great option!

What is a sateen weave, and how does it feel compared to percale cotton?

Sateen has a smoother hand feel, a softer drape, and a subtle sheen. Percale feels crisper and cooler to the touch. Sateen is a better fit for sleepers who want a plush, polished feel, while percale is usually chosen for a lighter, more matte finish.

Will this cotton shrink?

Like most cotton bedding, this duvet cover should be washed and dried according to the care instructions to help maintain fit and feel. Using warm water, low tumble drying, and avoiding bleach or dry cleaning helps maintain the size of the fabric.
