What is matelasse?

Matelasse is a weaving technique that creates a softly raised, textured surface without any added filling. On the Waterfront Grid Matelasse Blanket, it gives the cotton a gentle grid dimension and that lived-in, heritage feel that makes a bed look settled and inviting.

What is the Waterfront Grid Matelasse Blanket made of?

It is made from 100% cotton, which keeps it soft, supple, and breathable. The all-cotton weave is part of what gives it that relaxed, naturally textured drape.

Can I use this blanket year-round?

Yes. It is light enough to layer over your sheets or comforter in warmer months and works as an easy extra layer when nights turn cool. Its versatility is what makes it such a natural everyday piece.

Does the matelasse texture hold up after washing?

The woven matelasse texture is built into the fabric itself, not pressed or printed on, so it stays beautifully dimensional wash after wash. A little softening over time is part of its heritage charm.

How should I style the Waterfront Grid Matelasse Blanket?

It layers beautifully with your existing bedding. Pull it up under a duvet on cooler nights or try it folded across the end of the bed to add texture and color.
